Engineered with multi-directional flex nodes and a full-height heel, the SmoothFlex 2.0 running shoe is designed to help your feet move and flex freely without sacrificing that traditional, supportive feel. It’s natural movement - perfected.
This is a interesting change for me from running shoes that I've worn for the past 15 years. This shoe is much "less"...the upper gives much more easily and just seems generally "less". I guess the evolution of training shoes is away from the stable, more inflexible shoe with a large heel lift, which is my other point--the heel lift of this shoe is much less than that of previous training shoes that I've worn, most lately the Saucony shoes and the Jazz series. After a week of running, my foot has totally adjusted to this new arrangement and they seem just as stable and comfortable, but with less of a forced realignment of my foot. Very pleasant to wear. I would think that the durability of a shoe like this would be less, but only time will tell.
